Prof. Refet Gürkaynak, faculty member in the Department of Economics, has been appointed Vice President for Special Projects at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), one of the world’s most prestigious international networks for economic policy and research.
In this international leadership role, Prof. Gürkaynak will lead the development of CEPR’s central banking community and oversee the next phase of the organization’s Europe-Asia Initiative.
The appointment recognizes his global standing in academia, his intellectual leadership and his contributions to monetary economics and policy.
Prof. Gürkaynak will spend the coming year on sabbatical at the University of Tokyo
