The Department of Graphic Design has organized a new exhibition by third-year students, “Experimental Typography Movie Posters.” The exhibition opened on February 2 at CerModern’s Hub Art Space and will be on display until February 12.
The works in the exhibit resulted from an experimental typography project that focused on the exploration of type and typographic forms to convey meaning. Using unconventional materials, textures and scan/print techniques, each student in last semester’s GRA301 Graphic Design Studio course produced a typographic representation of a film of their choice. Course instructors were Ekin Kılıç Ezer and Atıl Kurttekin. The exhibition features students’ sketches and final designs, as well as videos of the projects in process, which can be viewed via QR codes displayed on the exhibition tags.
