What do you like best about Turkey?
I absolutely love the rich culture and history of Turkey. With its colorful bazaars and stunning architecture, it is no wonder that Turkey is such a popular destination for both tourists and locals alike. The vibrant culture, delicious cuisine and friendly people make it a truly special place to visit.
Are there any similarities between Turkey and your home country?
Yes, there are several similarities between Turkey and Pakistan. Both countries share a long history of cultural and religious ties. Additionally, the countries have strong economic and political relationships. Both countries are home to vibrant and diverse populations, with numerous ethnic and religious groups living side-by-side in peaceful harmony.
What will you miss most about Bilkent/Turkey?
I will miss the friendly and supportive people I have been fortunate enough to meet and the wonderful opportunities that this university has provided me. I will miss the warm hospitality, vibrant culture and beautiful landscapes that Turkey has to offer. Most of all, I will miss the feeling of being part of a welcoming community and the sense of belonging that comes with it. Despite being thousands of miles away, I will always carry with me the fond memories of my time in Turkey.
What’s your favorite place on campus, and why?
My favorite place on campus is my dorm/hostel, Dorm 78. We have a lot of fun here and the manager is so nice.
What’s your favorite Turkish food and/or favorite part of Turkish culture?
My favorite part of Turkish culture is the warmth and hospitality that is so deeply ingrained. Everywhere I go, I feel welcomed and taken care of, and it’s truly a unique experience. I also love the delicious food that Turkey has to offer, particularly the kebabs.
Where do you expect to see yourself 10 years from now?
In 10 years, I hope to be in a place of professional and personal growth. I want to be able to look back and be proud of the decisions I have made and the impact I have had on my community. I want to have a career that I wake up excited to work on each day, and I want to have meaningful relationships with family and friends. Most importantly, I want to be content and fulfilled with the person I have become in these 10 years.
What’s the hardest challenge you’ve handled in Turkey?
One of the hardest challenges I faced in Turkey was the communication barrier due to different languages.
What places have you visited in Turkey, and which one is your favorite?
I have visited Antalya, Cappadocia, Eskişehir, İstanbul, Trabzon and Ankara so far. Antalya is my favorite city in Turkey. From its stunning beaches and turquoise waters to its rich culture and vibrant atmosphere, it has something for everyone.

Why did I choose to come to Turkey for my exchange is a question I frequently hear.
