How often do you exercise?
I exercise three or four times per week.
How has regular exercise affected your life?
Regular exercise has a number of positive effects on mental health due to the release of the hormones dopamine and serotonine. Staying active helps me supress high levels of worry and stress. It also keeps me healthy, allows me to stay physically fit and enhances my cognitive skills.
What do you suggest to those who are just taking up a sport or starting to exercise?
Don’t give up, continuity is important.
Do not expect to gain strength instantly.
Eat well.
Do not get dehydrated — drink lots of water.
Do not worry, be happy.
Remember to take rest days because the body needs to repair itself.
What are the first three things that come to mind when you hear the word “sports”?
Power, Discipline, Health
Which Bilkent sports facilities do you use?
I use the Sport Halls, the Table Tennis facility and the Stadium.
Have you taken any courses or participated in any activities?
I haven’t taken any yet, but I’d like to participate in the Table Tennis sessions.
