Three early short plays written by Eugene O’Neill premiered on May 5 in the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts Theater Hall.
Directed by Jason Hale, chair of the Department of Performing Arts, the production is being staged by the Department of Performing Arts students as a senior project. Performances will run through
June 1.
Newly translated into Turkish by Bora Uzunboy, these three early short plays, “The Pincer,” “Before Breakfast” and “Abortion,” feature people of all classes and show them at their most vulnerable.
The remaining performances of the play will take place on May 18 and 25 and June 1 at 8 p.m. in the FMPA Theater Hall.
Cast members are Nevin Ece Akkaya, Erk Şekercioğlu, Gökçe Taştan, Ege Tolga, Ferhan Vural, Orkan Aydın, Yusuf Ardıl Zümrüt, Esat Mert Doğan, Can Doğa Patır, guest players Sinan Pekinton (instructor at THEA) and Sükun Işıtan (THEA 93’).
Poster design is by Birsu Çeltek (instructor at GRA), set design by Özlem Gezgin, lighting by Yılmaz Ertekin, and the director assistant is Haydar Özkan. The technical team is Burak Toptaş, Elif Ekizoğlu and Yağmur Demir.
