The Information for the Future Workshop (GIB 2023), themed “Libraries of the Future: What to expect?” was held in Antalya from October 26 to October 29, 2023. The workshop served as a platform for having discussions, forging connections and fostering collaborations among libraries and experts from diverse backgrounds. Throughout the workshop, participants explored innovative strategies to enhance library services, ensuring they remain relevant and accessible in an ever-changing world.
Dr. Ebru Kaya, our library director, contributed to the workshop by chairing the session, “Access to Information in the Artificial Intelligence Universe.” This session explored the intricacies of information access in an era dominated by Artificial Intelligence (AI). Dr. Kaya opened the discussion with an insightful overview of the challenges and opportunities presented by AI concerning information accessibility. She emphasized the pivotal role that libraries play in embracing change, exploring the potential of AI to create a future where knowledge and innovation thrive hand in hand and shaping the next century of the Republic of Turkey.
