What do you like best about Turkey?
Definitely the people because everyone is so friendly, helpful and talkative.
Are there any similarities between Turkey and your home country?
There aren’t any similarities to my home country. But I like that it is distinguishable in its own way.
What will you miss most about Bilkent/Turkey?
The Simit in Speed Café – it is the best!
What’s your favorite place on campus, and why?
My favorite place is the FA Building. There are many beautiful paintings, and I like the superman who is hanging from the ceiling.
What’s your favorite Turkish food and/or favorite part of Turkish culture?
I am in love with Turkish çorba, but I also love that it is ordinary to drink çay all day.
Where do you expect to see yourself 10 years from now?
Happy and especially healthy! That I have achieved all my goals, had my own family and that I’m doing my dream job.
What’s the hardest challenge you’ve handled in Turkey?
To manage a Turkish SIM card (haha).
What places have you visited in Turkey, and which one is your favorite?
I have only visited İstanbul, and I am absolutely in love with this city!
What’s an interesting question or comment you hear frequently at Bilkent/in Turkey?
“Hoş geldiniz” and “I also have relatives in Germany.”
