BILT Stages “Ministry of Wish Fulfillment”

Bilkent International Laboratory Theatre (BILT) will stage its new production, “Arzuları Yerine Getirme Müdürlüğü” (“Ministry of Wish Fulfillment”), on September 22 and 23 at the Bilkent Theater Hall. The play is expected to continue with additional dates later in the season. Written by Barkın Kenan and directed by Pelin Şahin, both Bilkent alumni, the play premiered in August 2025, at the same venue.

Founded in 2019 as an alumni collective within Bilkent University’s Department of Performing Arts, BILT aims to support and present new works of contemporary Turkish theater. The upcoming production will feature performances by Kutay Karagülle, Berkay Şekerci, Tutku Lal Demirci, Ege Tolga, Haydar Özkan, Toygun Elaldı and Berk Cem Göksel. Set and costume design are by Türküler Topal and lighting design is by Işık Kazancıoğlu.

Set in an imaginary kingdom, “Arzuları Yerine Getirme Müdürlüğü” follows an absurd and comedic story inside a ten-story institution created to meet citizens’ requests. Through humor and satire, the play explores bureaucracy, resilience and human nature.

BILT’s artistic director Jason Hale emphasized the group’s ongoing mission to bring new Turkish plays to the stage. For tickets: https://ticket.bilkent.edu.tr/
