Öykü Terzioğlu Özer, a graduate of the Department of Turkish Literature, was recently awarded third place in the miniature painting category at the 5th International Dârümülk Islamic Arts Competition, organized by the Municipality of Konya.
Özer, who completed her master’s thesis under the guidance of the late Talât Halman and Hilmi Yavuz, focused her research on “Nâzım Hikmet and His Anti-Colonialist Poetics,” which was later published as a book.
In addition to her accomplishments in the field of literature, Özer has also taught at Bilkent University. She previously taught part time in the Turkish language unit and is currently serving as a part time lecturer in the Department of History, where she teaches Ottoman Turkish and Paleography (HIST 401/1 and HIST 401/2).
