Trick or treat? I’d pick a candy—preferably one with caffeine.
As Halloween passes, the real monsters of the season begin to awaken: deadlines, unfinished projects and mid-terms.
I hope you’re well-rested after the holiday and refreshed by all the spooky fun. How were the costumes this year? Which one did you like the most? Every October, people dress as ghosts, witches and vampires. I dressed as a cowboy girl—but honestly, have you seen the look on a student’s face when they realize they won’t manage to cover all the material before the exam? That’s the stuff of true horror.
And of course, Halloween wouldn’t be complete without a few legends and conspiracy theories being whispered in the dark. From haunted places to secret experiments, it’s the season of stories that blur the line between truth and myth. Speaking of which, have you ever heard the legend of Pentagon Pizza Curve?
Legend is that whenever something serious or critical happens in the world, pizza orders near the Pentagon skyrocket. In times of crisis, people crave comfort food—and nothing says “calm down” like a hot, cheesy pizza. It seems to be the most reliable crisis detector of them all. Signaling that things are heating up…literally and figuratively.
So, let’s bring this theory closer to home: Bilkent University. If the Pentagon Pizza Curve holds any truth, then mid-term week here is its ultimate proof. During these tense days, you know which brother is helping you around the campus. Libraries overflow with caffeine-powered students, and the delivery guy becomes the hero or at least a popular member of campus life.
So next time you’re pulling an all-nighter or revising your notes while eating slices of pepperoni, remember: you’re part of the grand tradition of crisis pizza-eaters. In the end, whether you ace your exams or not, one thing’s for sure: pizza is the real MVP of the season.
